At Hands on Health, we provide comprehensive family therapy that caters to the entire family. Our patients range from pediatrics to geriatrics and everyone in between. Our dedicated staff employs patient-centered care to assist individuals facing various challenges, including: Attention, Concentration, & Learning; Autism, Sensory Spectrum Disorders, and General Pediatrics; back injuries and strains; toe walking, plantar fasciitis, and other foot problems; knee, wrist, elbow, shoulder, and other joint pain or motion limitations; scoliosis and congenital orthopedic issues; men’s and women’s health concerns; temporo-mandibular joint and jaw issues; post-surgical management of head and neck cancers; neurological issues affecting the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system; balance and vestibular problems; as well as support for family members and primary caregivers of those with special needs. We also address diagnoses specific to genetic disorders and dysfunctions of circulation, nerves, organs, and immunity, ensuring comprehensive care for patients from pediatrics through older adults.

Ninety-five percent of our sessions focus on manual therapy and patient-centered care, utilizing a gentle, non-painful approach that reduces the body’s reactivity and anxiety. Research indicates that calming the nervous system improves cognitive function, reduces stress, and enhances ease of movement. Based on Dr. Candace Pert's research at the U.S. National Institutes of Health, emotions can influence all body tissues. In collaboration with your physician, we incorporate mind-body strategies to reduce stress and promote relaxation and overall well-being, similar to the principles of family therapy. While traditional physical therapy often relies on an exercise-only approach, studies show that manual techniques targeting the circulatory, nervous, and fascial systems before exercise can significantly benefit flexibility, pain relief, muscle function, neuro-sensory integration, and cognitive and motor development.

We prioritize open communication with your healthcare team to ensure patient-centered care. As we develop your activity program, we will collaborate with your medical team to address hydration and nutrition. In cases where patients work with multiple doctors, therapists, or receive school-based services, including family therapy and manual therapy, we are dedicated to coordinating with these providers as necessary to ensure a seamless continuum of care.

We are dedicated to understanding your goals and will work with you to create a patient-centered care therapy program tailored to achieving them. With your consent, we will share your goals with your medical team to ensure alignment in your treatment plan. We have successfully coordinated care with various professionals, including specialty physicians, primary care doctors, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, chiropractors, and nutritionists, as well as integrating family therapy and manual therapy approaches when appropriate. Our evening and weekend hours provide added convenience for accessing care.
