My Improvement

I thank God for Suzanne and Hands on Health Physical Therapy! When Suzanne first saw me I was at the lowest point possible in my life. 32 sessions of radiation and 8 infusions of chemo had reduced my body’s ability to function to almost nothing, not to mention what it was doing to my brain & mental wellbeing. Even swallowing was extremely painful, walking difficult. She worked on me for three days. The most dramatic affect was her being able to improve my swallowing–giving me hope that life had the ability to return to “normal”. Because of her my mental status improved greatly and I have found local people who can continue to help me improve physically. I’m working with an orthopedic therapist as well as a visceral therapist. Between the two of them I have gained strength and am in less pain. Though the two “therapists” are vastly different both have managed to improve my body functions & both encourage me to try new things. The acupuncturist continues to keep the herniated disk in check (saving me from surgery) and is a blessed addition to my therapy team. It will be a many months before I will consider myself “normal”–in the meantime I rejoice in the improvements.

Hi Dr. Suzanne, I am writing this email because I wanted to let you know how very happy and excited we are about my son’s progress. We could tell the difference in his coordination and his movements within just couple of weeks! He always locked his knees when he ran and was able to run only few steps at the time and now he wants to run all the time. The exercises you have us do helped so much too. Heh as calmed down a lot and seems to be more content. We couldn't thank you enough!

Sincerely, B.I.

After 3 weeks of treatment, we received this information:

Hi Suzanne, (My son) has been making good progress. Some new things for him,

1. He is going down a "tube" slide which was "too scary" before

2. He is climbing the ladder up to the slide

3. He is climbing upstairs with reciprocal gait and not holding rails

4. He is less irritable, less reactive to situations

5. He is able to start the flow of urine as soon as he sits without wait time of up to 30 minutes

Suzanne consulted with my nutritional allergist and found I had gluten sensitivity. My incontinence was largely manageable within a few weeks & totally gone within 3 months. I had just accepted my swollen joints, soreness as “getting old” even though I work out regularly. Patty H., Chicago.
